Will this sink fit in a 30" sink base?
Yes, this 27" width sink will fit in a 30" wide base cabinet.

If this is a 27" sink, then why is the inside length dimension only 16 1/2"?
The exterior width (side to side) of the sink is 27". The exterior length (front to back) is 18". Given the .75" thickness of the sink, the interior length (front to back) is 16 1/2". More dimensions can be found in the product description and the Spec Sheet.

What is the largest sink that will fit a 30" wide base cabinet
A 27" Fireclay Sink will fit into a 30" base cabinet.
For Farmhouse Sinks, the recommended base cabinet size is 3" larger than the width of the sink. Because dimensions may vary due to the fireclay process, please use the actual sink that you will be installing to determine the cutout dimensions for your countertop and cabinetry.

I am not sure how I stumbled across the Sink Boutique, but it was a good stumble. We are remodeling kitchen, and nearly every appliance we've ordered is backordered for weeks, months, or simply out of stock. Within just a few days, this sink and components were shipped FedEx. Extremely well packaged, and in perfect condition. The online pictures do not do it justice! Still a few weeks before install so I can't speak to that, but so far, a perfect 10 experience. A word to the wise...Consumer Reports says Fireclay sinks (no reflection on the Sink Boutique) are very prone to chipping. Never the less, one beautiful sink backed by outstanding order/delivery process.
We ordered this sink early in 2021 but did not install for some months. We are finally finishing the kitchen build Jan 2022. This sink is so elegant! We are getting so many compliments. Thank you for a great product.
I was looking for a 30" sink and the estimated ship date was a month out. So glad I decided to go with a smaller size as I got my sink within a week of ordering. It is beautiful and big enough for my condo kitchen. I love it! Thanks for the recommendation TSB!
